Job Description

MEDS is seeking a highly motivated and skilled ICT Officer – Database Administration to join our dynamic Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our database systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the organization's databases to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Perform regular security assessments and implement necessary measures to protect data integrity and security.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery plans.
  • Monitor database performance and tune systems to optimize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to integrate database solutions with other applications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff on database-related issues.
  • Stay updated with latest database technologies and trends to ensure best practices.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years experience in database administration, preferably in a pharmaceuticals or health-related industry.
  • Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Experience with database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
