Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Design Technology Teacher for our Senior School in Nairobi, Kenya. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ICT and education, with the ability to inspire students and foster a creative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an engaging Design Technology curriculum for senior school students.
  • Utilize ICT tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Design Technology teachers.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular activities related to design technology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to drive school-wide initiatives and improvements.
  • Produce a departmental development plan, updated annually.
  • Produce and regularly update schemes of work and curriculum documents.
  • Maintain regular communication (where appropriate) with Prep School Curriculum Advisors, especially about the transition from Year 6 to Year 7.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Education, Design Technology, ICT, or a related field.
  • 2 years' experience teaching Design Technology at the secondary school level.
  • Strong ICT skills and familiarity with educational technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire both students and faculty.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Be a skilled classroom practitioner, having a good subject knowledge and an awareness of teaching methodology.
  • Be able to teach Mathematics up to IGCSE and A Level or IB.
  • Have a valid Teacher Services Commission Certificate (if applying from Kenya) or Qualified Teacher
  • Status (QTS) or a general education degree (for overseas applicants).
