DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Supervision & Quality Assurance
- Oversee all aspects of the production process to ensure products meet defined quality standards and production timelines.
- Enforce compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP, and quality assurance protocols.
- Perform in-process quality checks and ensure any deviations are promptly addressed.
Material Management
- Requisition raw materials and packaging materials in a timely manner to avoid production downtime.
- Liaise with the store/warehouse team to ensure the availability of materials and proper documentation (e.g., material transfer notes).
Workforce Coordination
- Assign tasks and supervise production floor staff to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor staff attendance, productivity, and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.
- Train and mentor team members to improve efficiency and maintain high work standards.
Compliance with Health, Safety & Hygiene Standards
- Ensure all operations on the production floor comply with company Health and Safety policies.
- Enforce proper use of PPE and adherence to hygiene practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Product Development Support
- Collaborate with the R&D or Quality teams in executing new product trials and improvements to existing products.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit daily production reports detailing output, downtime, material usage, and staff performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of production records, including material transfer notes, batch documentation, and cleaning logs.
Operational Monitoring
- Conduct hourly online checks of water and juice parameters to ensure they are within specified limits.
- Monitor machinery and equipment for functionality and cleanliness, escalating maintenance needs where necessary.
Housekeeping and Product Handling
- Ensure the production floor is maintained in a clean, organized, and hazard-free condition.
- Verify that finished products are properly packaged, labelled, and neatly arranged in designated storage areas.
Communication
- Maintain open communication with cross-functional teams (e.g., Stores, Quality Assurance, Maintenance) to ensure smooth operations.
- Relay operational challenges to management promptly and suggest improvements where applicable.
Other Duties
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Production/Factory Manager or company leadership in line with operational needs.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree/Diploma in Food Science and Technology
- 2 years progressive working experience in FMCG firm
- Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and safety standards
- Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
- Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office, production software)
Salary: Ksh. 70,000 - Ksh. 80,000
