Key Requirements
- Providing leadership by developing a long-term strategic direction which is aligned with the company’s overall mission and vision
- Implementing strategies and allocating resources to achieve the set objectives
- Responsible for the commercial results in Kenya
- Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the country office
- Managing and reporting the company’s finances in close collaboration with the contracted accounting firm Pipeline Development and Portfolio management
- Overseeing and managing the scouting and assessment of potential SMEs
- Responsible for quarterly monitoring of the portfolio both in terms of financials and impact performance
- Initiating and developing new business concepts and opportunities in close collaboration with the portfolio companies, partners, donors and other ecosystem players
- Empowering entrepreneurs to increase their social and environmental impact by connecting them to relevant development partners and developing public-private partnerships
- Building and maintaining strategic partnerships and networks and using them for information, support and cooperation purposes
- Developing, fundraising and implementing programs both on a country and global level that support the organization’s strategic goals
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a relevant feel. Masters is an added advantage
- More than 8 years of relevant work experience in the impact investments space
- Proven entrepreneurial mindset, proactive, risk-taker, strong business acumen
- Good leadership skills, experience in working in an international environment
- A proven track record in developing business opportunities and building partnerships
- Result and impact-driven, proven commercial results
- Excellent commercial and communicative skills
- Strong problem solving skills and network capabilities
- Strong negotiation and decision making skills
- Committed and well connected
