Job Description
Objective
- To provide hands-on industrial exposure and technical skill development for a Mechanical Engineering attachee who has successfully completed Module One training in Kenya, with a focus on maintenance operations in an LPG cylinder manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in routine and preventive maintenance of hydraulic presses, welding systems, and automated machinery used in LPG cylinder production.
- Support troubleshooting of mechanical faults and participate in root cause analysis under supervision.
- Aid in the inspection, servicing, and calibration of control and instrumentation systems.
- Participate in daily maintenance briefings, safety toolbox talks, and documentation of maintenance activities.
- Learn and apply basic principles of pneumatic and hydraulic systems relevant to pressurized gas equipment.
- Observe and support adherence to safety protocols, especially those related to high-temperature machinery such as the heat treatment unit.
- Contribute to the preparation of maintenance reports, equipment logs, and technical memos.
- Collaborate with technicians and engineers to understand workflow, equipment layout, and operational constraints.

Qualifications
- Completion of Module One in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Kenyan institution.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, safety procedures, and technical drawing interpretation.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Strong work ethic, discipline, and respect for operational protocols.
- Preferably a resident of Kisaju or nearby areas along the Nairobi–Namanga Road, where Surge Energy Limited is located.
