Job Description

Mission Description                      

  • To perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, construction equipment, and trailers to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations.
  • The successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas: -
  • Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Assess requirement and propose in consultation with workshop manager the specifications for parts and materials needed and duration of the repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
  • Account for materials and parts used
  • Rescue trucks on transit on need basis
  • Inspection & Diagnostics
  • Perform inspections to identify wear and tear or potential issues.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to assess vehicle performance.
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
  • Report major faults or recurring issues to supervisors.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Inventory & Tools Management
  • Manage tools and equipment responsibly.
  • Observe security and safety measures of all tools,
  • Request parts and supplies as needed.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Work with other mechanics and departments to ensure timely vehicle availability.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff if required.
  • Carry out assigned mechanical works

Profile

  • Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • 4 years working experience as a Mechanic
Education: Diploma
