Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate heavy commercial vehicles to transport goods across short and long distances.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated destinations, adhering to route schedules.
- Load and offload cargo, ensuring that all goods are handled with care and accounted for.
- Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate mileage and fuel records and report trip data to the Logistics Supervisor.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and in good operating condition at all times.
- Assist with routing and delivery planning in collaboration with dispatch and logistics teams.
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers, suppliers, and the public.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a heavy commercial driver, preferably in: Supermarket goods distribution or Construction materials supply and logistics
- Familiarity with Kenyan road networks, traffic patterns, and major delivery routes
- Ability to drive long distances with minimal supervision
- Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to follow instructions, keep delivery records, and communicate effectively
- Must be punctual, dependable, and trustworthy, with a strong sense of responsibility
Salary: Kshs. 25,000
Otherpay: Mileage Allowance
