Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the food security and livelihoods (Mwanga Project) in Tana River.
Assist project assistant and project officer to identify, profile and organize farmers into farmer groups.
Adapt and use training materials and ensure existing training materials are up to date.
Organize and train farmers groups on group dynamics and leadership.
Organize and train groups on Village Savings and Loans Associations.
Support project assistant and project officer to conduct regular monitoring to ensure that community-driven projects are implemented by groups/ clusters achieve expected outputs, outcomes, and results.
Assist in conducting monitoring and evaluation exercises including baselines, annual and endline surveys.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly project reports both quantitative and qualitative, aspects of the project.
Support the project officer to document project success stories and lessons learned and share with project for documentation monthly.
Other duties as assigned by the Project Officer.
Qualifications
Education Qualifications
The Intern should be:
A recent graduate of a degree or diploma program in Social Work, Gender and Development Studies, Community Development, or Development Studies or a Certificate with two (2) years of relevant experience in lieu of a
Interest or knowledge in community development, livelihoods projects or humanitarian work.
Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
