Currently, the Out Patient Department has evolved into a one stop shop for all medical services expected of a national referral hospital. Despite the high cost of day to day operations and purchase and maintenance of modern medical equipment, The Outspan Hospital has retained very low rates in charges and fees. Some of the rates have never been reviewed since the facility opened its doors.
Job Description

The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for ensuring effective oversight of revenue collection processes at Outspan Hospital. The role entails monitoring daily cash inflows, verifying accuracy of collections, reconciling receipts with hospital records, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. The officer will also support in identifying and addressing variances, preparing revenue reports, and safeguarding accountability and transparency in the hospital’s financial operations.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

To ensure that all services rendered are billed accurately and appropriately per patient per visit in all service points

 

Ensure patients are billed under correct payment modality

 

Ensure all insurance smart cards and biometrics are run and invoices are signed by clients

 

Ensure all bills are finalized in the hospital information system

 

Ensure all insurance claims forms are fully filled, complete and submitted to the claims officers for dispatch in a timely manner

 

Prepare and submit daily revenue summary reports to the revenue officer within the stipulated timelines.

 

Requirements

 

CPA-K or Bachelor of Commerce (Accounts option)

 

3 years of working experience

 

Demonstrate Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data

 

Demonstrate Knowledge of regulatory requirements and regulations related to the health care sector.

 

High levels of integrity, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.

 

Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience

 

Hospital Experience is an added advantage
