Our client, a manufacturer and seller of motorcycles, is seeking to hire a Technical Help Desk Specialist who will be responsible for offering first-level support and technical assistance for both software and hardware or other computer systems, and needs help completing tasks or troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests and remote access to their computers to all HMK and HSAFK Users
The position also required accurate documentation and tracking, and monitoring the problem to ensure a timely resolution. This Person in charge may also be called upon to deliver technical training and support needs for users, and telephone help desk activities.
Responsibilities:
- Responding to queries via chat, email, or phone
- Log and track support calls, prioritize and escalate jobs required to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Support all internal and external users with product training and on troubleshooting and diagnosing problems
- Writing, editing, and revising training manuals for new and updated software and hardware
- Providing technical assistance for questions and problems
- Resolving problems with networks and other computer systems
- Diagnosing system errors and other issues
- Following up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues
- Requesting feedback and/or monitoring calls and other methods of correspondence to improve training methods
- Running reports to analyse common complaints and problems
- Installing or changing software to fix issues
- Remotely accessing hardware or software for clients to make changes and fix problems
Qualifications
- BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar field
- Strong Computer Skills and the Ability to Troubleshoot and Diagnose Problems
- Real desire to help people.
- Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
- Customer service and Communication skills
- Writing and Editing Skills to aid in writing and updating manuals
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work under pressure
- Adaptability
- Specialized certifications from organizations like CompTIA or product manufacturers like Cisco may be preferred/required
