Our client is a growth-focused marketing agency helping Kenyan and Pan-African brands win on digital. They blend data, creativity, and technology to deliver measurable business outcomes across media, content, and platforms.
They are looking for a Digital Team Lead to drive execution excellence across their digital team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for translating the digital strategy set by the Head of Digital into operational success — guiding your team in delivering impactful campaigns, improving performance, and scaling best practices.
You will lead a team of media planners and digital marketing specialists, ensure smooth delivery of campaigns across channels, and champion continuous improvement in tools, workflows, and team capability.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients by serving as the primary point of contact for campaign delivery and operational queries.
- Ensure proactive communication with clients regarding campaign performance, timelines, and key updates.
- Partner with the Client Services and Strategy teams to ensure expectations are managed and exceeded.
- Facilitate feedback loops between client and internal teams, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and strategic goals.
Team Leadership & Delivery Management:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of media planners and digital marketing specialists—providing clear direction, coaching, and support.
- Drive the implementation of digital strategies defined by the Head of Digital, ensuring consistent execution across channels and accounts.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of digital campaigns from setup to reporting, ensuring timelines, budgets, and performance targets are met.
- Ensure high-quality outputs through robust QA processes—verifying accuracy in media setup, tracking, creative assets, and reporting.
Project & Workflow Management:
- Oversee complex digital projects across search, social, video, programmatic, and web—owning timelines, resource planning, and delivery coordination.
- Translate briefs and strategic direction into clearly scoped, actionable work plans for your team.
- Identify roadblocks or inefficiencies, and implement process improvements that enhance speed, quality, and team collaboration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with creative, development, data, and client teams to align project execution with strategy and client goals.
- Support new client onboarding and project kickoffs by aligning execution plans with strategic objectives.
Performance, Tools & Optimization:
- Champion the use of tools and automation to streamline workflows and improve reporting accuracy and timeliness.
- Work with the Head of Digital to implement new systems, media platforms, or measurement approaches.
- Foster a culture of accountability, knowledge-sharing, and structured learning through playbooks, SOPs, and retrospectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing or related field
- Minimum of 5+ years in digital marketing/media agency, with at least 2 years in team leadership or operations-heavy roles.
- Experience running or overseeing paid campaigns across platforms like Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and programmatic tools.
- Familiarity with campaign and data QA processes—verifying campaign setup, tagging, tracking, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of digital media KPIs, attribution, and performance optimization.
- Experience managing multi-channel project timelines, resource plans, and execution frameworks.
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills—able to lead from the middle.
- Proficient in key tools: GA4, GTM, Looker Studio/Power BI, Meta/Google Ads Manager, project management platforms.
- Experience in agency settings with fast-moving, multi-industry clients.
- Familiarity with marketing automation, CRM systems, or lifecycle marketing tools.
- Certifications in Google Ads, Meta Blueprint.
