Our client, a leading real estate developer recognized as the pioneer of the open-plan gated community concept in East Africa, is looking for a Chief Operating Officer to join their team.
The COO will oversee the execution of all operational matters across the company, ensuring timely delivery, accuracy, and alignment with strategic objectives. The role will report to the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with the responsibility of strengthening operational management, supporting cross-functional teams, and deputizing the MD and CEO in strategic functions, meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee day-to-day operations across business lines, including real estate development, site operations, estates management, marketing, procurement, hospitality, and support services.
Drive execution of strategic and operational objectives, ensuring projects and initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
Support, guide, and hold managers accountable for operational delivery, ensuring departmental objectives are aligned with group goals.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks or challenges that may affect operational performance, developing solutions to ensure continuity.
Report regularly to the MD and CEO on operational progress, challenges, and agreed action plans.
Oversee the operational rollout of new projects, business ventures, and group initiatives, ensuring seamless integration into the existing structure.
Strengthening and develop support services functions to be proactive, efficient, and responsive to business growth and client needs.
Deputize the MD and CEO in key meetings, stakeholder management, and decision-making processes.
Key Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in Senior Management, preferably in construction management, real estate development and real estate strategy.
Masters and a proven track record in Administration / Strategic management.
Strong competency in strategic planning, business development, and organizational leadership.
Demonstrated ability in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities with a results-driven mindset.
Integrity, credibility, and commitment to the organization’s mission, with the ability to inspire and lead teams effectively.
