Job Description

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

 

You will self-shoot video, edit full packages independently, often working alongside reporters or field producers, with content delivered across platforms (TV, digital, social).

 

Field Filming & Self-Shoot: Capture high-quality visuals in diverse and sometimes hostile environments, including lighting and sound setup in the field.

 

Editing & Packaging: Independently assemble finished packages for broadcast and digital platforms, including use of music, graphics, and voiceovers.

 

Story Shaping & Scripting: Contribute creative ideas and visual treatments. Occasionally write or edit scripts and presenter links.

 

Multiplatform Delivery: Prepare content optimized for TV bulletins, online and social media platforms; adapt content for audience engagement.

 

Collaboration: Work closely with reporters, editors, producers, and digital/graphics teams for seamless storytelling.

 

Editorial & Safety Standards: Ensure content follows BBC Editorial Guidelines and health & safety protocols in the field.

 

Technology & Archive Management: Maintain video libraries, operate current kit, and engage with newsroom media systems.

 

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

 

Technical Proficiency: Skilled in handheld/studio filming, sound, lighting in the field, and editing with tools like FCPX or Premiere Pro.

 

Journalistic Judgment: Strong editorial awareness, able to make quick decisions under deadline, and deliver impartial, accurate storytelling.

 

Visual Creativity: Ability to develop narrative visual styles, contribute unique treatments, and enhance stories using graphics or music.

 

Adaptability: Experience working in fast-paced environments, often in

 

Digital Savvy: Comfortable producing video content for social media, digital platforms, and live streaming where needed. Great Mojo skillls

 

Teamwork: Able to collaborate with editorial and technical colleagues and occasionally guide junior staff in video production.

 

Willingness to travel and in particular to High-Risk environments.

 

The ability to work flexible hours when required including on weekends if necessary.
