Job Description
The ICT and Digital Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the hospital’s ICT infrastructure, hardware, and communication systems. The role ensures business continuity, data protection, and reliable service delivery by overseeing systems administration, hardware management, and cybersecurity controls, while also supporting digital strategies that enhance the hospital’s online presence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Systems & Security Management
- Ensure optimal performance and security of all infrastructure, hardware, and communication equipment across the hospital.
- Design and implement strategic Data Centre plans to meet current and future ICT and security requirements.
- Oversee provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
- Manage cybersecurity solutions including firewalls, endpoint protection, anti-virus, intrusion prevention, and email security.
- Conduct periodic ICT security reviews and ensure compliance with ISO Information Security standards.
- Monitor and ensure integrity of backups, performing disaster recovery tests to support business continuity.
- Monitor ICT server and network infrastructure to ensure reliability, availability, and protection of hospital systems.
- Provide end-user support and training on LAN usage, data security, and ICT policies.
Process & Digital Strategy
- Research, evaluate, and recommend IT products, services, security protocols, and standards.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and provide reports with remediation plans.
- Test system and server performance, providing regular performance and security reports.
- Monitor CCTV systems, promptly reporting and escalating any security concerns.
- Manage and organize digital advertising campaigns in line with customer behavior and competitor analysis.
- Enhance brand awareness and customer engagement by ensuring timely, accurate communication across digital platforms.
People Management
Internal:
- Enforce ICT standards, policies, and best practices across the hospital.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and technical direction to the ICT team.
- Collaborate with Finance in preparing and monitoring departmental budgets.
External:
- Ensure compliance of ICT vendors and contractors with SLAs, security standards, and hospital regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (essential).
- Strong proficiency in hardware management, cybersecurity, and network protection (essential).
- Must have prior working experience in a hospital/healthcare setting (essential).
- Professional certifications such as ITIL, CCNA, CEH, CISSP, or MCSE (added advantage).
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in ICT systems administration and cybersecurity.
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced server administration and management skills (Linux & Windows).
- Strong expertise in network infrastructure (e.g., Cisco).
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity tools and practices (perimeter, endpoint, and data security).
- Ability to manage and configure enterprise-wide server and security infrastructure.
- Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
