DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investment Origination & Deal Management
Lead comprehensive market research initiatives across target countries, industries, and companies to identify high-potential investment opportunities
Develop and maintain sophisticated databases of market intelligence, incorporating analysis from annual reports, industry publications, and financial journals
Screen and evaluate diverse investment prospects including private equity, quoted securities, fixed income instruments, real estate, and short-term deposits
Serve as primary liaison with sponsors and stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle
Prepare detailed fact sheets, preliminary investment summaries, and maintain dynamic deal flow schedules
Due Diligence & Financial Modeling
Construct complex financial models and lead comprehensive due diligence processes
Coordinate with external consultants including legal advisors, tax specialists, and industry experts
Present detailed investment analyses to the Finance and Investments Committee
Ensure robust documentation and approval processes are followed
Manage financial, tax, and legal structuring to optimize transaction outcomes
Transaction Execution & Portfolio Management
Oversee complete transaction closing processes, ensuring fund availability and regulatory compliance
Support capital raising initiatives and prepare board-level capital raising proposals
Develop and execute post-investment business plans to maximize value creation
Cultivate strategic relationships with co-investors and lending institutions
Prepare comprehensive semi-annual portfolio reviews and performance presentations
Provide regular updates to executive leadership on portfolio company progress
Exit Strategy & Value Realization
Develop annual portfolio optimization plans with clear exit versus retention recommendations
Prepare and present detailed exit analyses to the Board of Directors
Execute exit strategies to maximize investment returns
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Maintain compliance with statutory bodies and relevant financial regulations
Prepare timely and comprehensive reports for CEO and Board consumption
Contribute to investor briefings, annual reports, and other stakeholder communications

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
Mandatory: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification or Certified Financial Analyst qualification
Additional professional certifications in investment management preferred
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in investment management, private equity, or related financial services
Proven track record in deal origination, execution, and portfolio management
Experience with both quoted and unquoted investment vehicles
Proficiency in advanced Excel modeling and financial analysis software
Experience with investment management systems and databases
Knowledge of Kenyan and regional capital markets
