JOB PURPOSE
Our client, a leading company in the Oil and Gas industry, is seeking to recruit a results-driven Retail Lubricants Category Manager to drive growth and profitability of the lubricants category. The ideal candidate will lead the execution of lubricants category plans, implement retail initiatives at forecourts, and ensure continuous improvement in sales performance and customer satisfaction across the retail network.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement Retail Lubricants Initiatives: Drive execution of lubricants activities across the retail network, including rollout of the revised lube bay offer, while addressing daily operational issues.
Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Conduct monthly evaluations of product mix and sales performance; compile and present performance data for decision-making.
Category Planning & Execution: Support development and ensure implementation of the Operating Unit (OU) lubricants category plan across all retail sites.
Coaching & Training: Provide continuous training, coaching, and motivation to retailers and site staff to enhance lubricants knowledge and sales skills.
Sell-Out Growth & Premiumization: Design and execute programs that drive lubricants sell-out growth and promote premium product uptake at sites.
AVA (Availability, Visibility, Active Selling) Implementation: Ensure stock availability, proper merchandising per planograms, and active upselling of lubricants through staff engagement programs.
Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor pricing, competitor activity, and collaborate with marketing to adapt strategies accordingly.
Forecasting & Compliance: Oversee monthly lubricants forecasting accuracy and ensure full compliance with HSSE standards at all retail sites.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Sales & Marketing or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in category management. An understanding of category management process would be an advantage.
Sound understanding of category management processes and merchandising principles.
Proven experience in purchasing, financial analysis, and stock control.
Prior experience in retail operations is desirable.
