Job Description

Role Overview

 

This senior position involves providing expert legal counsel on corporate commercial matters, leading transaction teams, and mentoring junior staff while maintaining exceptional client service standards.

Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge:

 

Minimum of a 2nd class upper Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university

Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate

At least 5 years post admission experience in a busy law firm

Experience advising on commercial law matters including:

Contract law and company law

Energy, mining, projects and PPPs

Capital markets and M&A

Employment and regulatory compliance

Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements

Experience in legal due diligence and corporate transactions

Strong knowledge in Data Protection, Cybersecurity, PPPs, and Fintech

Excellent negotiation, legal drafting and analytical skills

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Leadership experience with ability to mentor junior staff
