Description

The role involves conducting diagnostic tests, analyzing laboratory results, and providing timely and accurate reports to support clinical decision-making and enhance patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform a wide range of diagnostic tests in hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, and immunology.

Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Accurately document and report test results in accordance with established protocols.

Implement and comply with quality control measures and biosafety standards.

Collaborate with clinicians to support effective diagnosis and treatment.

Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents and consumables, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

Utilize Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and maintain accurate digital records.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology/Sciences from a recognized institution.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.

Valid registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) and an up-to-date practicing license.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy clinical laboratory setting.

Hands-on experience with automated diagnostic equipment and LIS

Proficient knowledge of biosafety, infection control, and Kenyan healthcare regulations.

Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is an added advantage.
