Job Description
Overall, Purpose of the Job
- To assist and collaborate with the Bee Health team in creating package designs, general visual communications materials, video editing and creating graphics including illustrations, posters, manuals, layouts, brochures, business cards, photography, printing and any other visual representations.
Specific Duties
- Creatively design with the inclusion of info-graphics, do the layout work, and provide the complete ready versions.
- Ensure that all the IEC layouts and materials are provided in terms of print and online versions.
- Responsible for editing and assembling recorded raw material on bees into a suitable, finished video product.
- Conceptualize visuals and illustrations based on bee research for dissemination purposes.
- Work with the research team to document by photography and videography to record and convey the research done by the bee team.
- Help in organizing online training, conferences, and webinars to disseminate to the wider scientific community.
- Document project activities organized by the bee projects by taking high-resolution images and videos for publications and online exposure.
- Develop visibility materials for events carried by the bee projects (T-shirts, banners, tear drops)
- To execute any other duties that will be required by the supervisor.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Diploma in Graphic Design.
- At least 2 years’ experience in an active Graphic design industry.
- At least 1 year of experience working in an international research institution.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a Technology transfer unit with main emphasis on insect science (mandatory).
- Diverse experience in videography /photography that involves farmers in Kenya.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy, online content development and social media.
- High degree of organization, adaptability, and prioritization.
