Our client is seeking The Head of Retail Operations and Business Development who will be responsible for overseeing the retail operations and driving business growth initiatives across the company. This role will lead the development and execution of strategies aimed at expanding the retail network, maximizing revenue, enhancing customer experience, and identifying new business opportunities.

Retail Strategy Development:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive retail strategies to increase market share, profitability, and brand recognition.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to refine retail strategies.
  • Plan and implement initiatives for store openings and expansions to maximize business performance.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to accelerate the company’s growth.
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of new business partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborations.
  • Oversee the development of new product/service offerings that align with customer needs and market trends.

Retail Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of retail outlets, ensuring that stores meet performance and operational targets.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards regarding product quality, customer service, and store presentation.
  • Develop and implement effective retail policies, procedures, and processes to ensure operational efficiency.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing retail and business development team.
  • Provide guidance on employee performance, development, and training to ensure continuous improvement.

Budgeting and Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage the department’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve key objectives.
  • Track and report on sales, profit margins, and other key financial metrics for retail operations and business development activities.
  • Ensure cost-effective management of retail operations, minimizing waste and maximizing profitability.
  • Customer Experience and Brand Building:
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by maintaining excellent customer service standards across all retail outlets.
  • Monitor customer feedback, complaints, and satisfaction surveys to continually improve the customer experience.

Reporting and Performance Analysis:

  • Regularly report to senior management on key performance indicators (KPIs), retail performance, and business development results.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to assess growth opportunities and risks, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Analyze sales data and customer insights to refine strategies and improve performance.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure that all retail operations comply with relevant legal, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage risks related to retail operations and business development activities, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field, a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • At least 6-8 years of experience in retail management, business development, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in leading retail operations and driving business growth.
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, market analysis, and business development strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of retail management software and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a large retail organization or fast-growing company.
  • Experience in expanding retail networks or launching new business units.
  • Knowledge of digital retail trends and e-commerce integration.
