Job Description

Reports To: Group Treasurer,

Dotted line to: Head of Finance-KE,

Location: Makueni, Sultan Hamud

Gross Salary: Kshs 150-180K

Our client is a multinational manufacturing company that has set up in Southern Africa and Western Africa and is looking to SETUP operations in East Africa in Sultan Hamud, Kenya, to support the East African Region. 

They are looking to hire a Treasury Officer responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local and international financial institutions, government agencies, consultants, and other key stakeholders. This role will also involve overseeing a range of treasury functions to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.

Effective Management

  • Assist in preparing annual Operating and Capital Budget for management consideration 
  • Advise the management on all treasury matters

Treasury Department Management

  • Enhance shareholders Value
  • Safe movement and disbursement of financial instrument and liquid assets
  • Timely remittance of staff salaries to individual accounts as advised
  • Appropriate  remittance of   VAT, WHT, NHF, Pension  fund, ITF, etc

Relationship Management

  • Liaison with external Auditors 
  • Liaison with the banks and other creditors 
  • Ensures effective management of risk, debt and money market instruments 
  • Cheque collection, matured payment from clients and writing regular letters for debt collection
  • Ensures sound and effective relationships with banks and other establishments and clients

Status Reporting

  • Ensures that regular reports on Treasury activities of the company are produced
  • and updated 
  • Regular preparation and reporting of treasury reports
  • Regular preparation and reporting of cash flows

Business Process

  • Number of Assignments completely executed as against work plan
  • Quality of feedback to GT
  • Timely feedback as at when due
  • Satisfaction of Clients
  • Completion of Jobs (milestones) on time and within work plan
  • Regular evaluation of progress, resolving problems in early stages, adjusting plan as needed, and communicating changes and progress
  • Good cost management
  • Identifies new ideas or methods to improve the Treasury function
  • B.Sc. Degree or HND in Accounting 
  • Membership of any recognised Accounting professional body  
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Conceptual Thinking

Gross Salary: Kshs 150-180K
