The Storekeeper is responsible for managing and organizing inventory, ensuring the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role requires strong skills in inventory management, including maintaining stock levels, tracking items, and utilizing MS Office to document and analyze inventory data. The Storekeeper plays a critical role in ensuring that all stock is accounted for, in good condition, and readily available for internal and external requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Inventory Management:

Receive, inspect, and document deliveries and incoming goods according to established procedures.

Track and monitor stock levels, ensuring that inventory is accurately recorded and updated.

Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.

Report any discrepancies or issues with stock levels and take corrective actions as necessary.

Manage and organize storage spaces to maximize efficiency and accessibility.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of all stock movements, including receipts, transfers, and dispatches.

Use MS Office tools (especially Excel) to prepare and maintain inventory reports, track stock levels, and update inventory data.

Generate weekly and monthly inventory reports to assist management with decision-making.

Order Management:

Prepare requisitions for materials or supplies and maintain a system for tracking order status.

Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for timely deliveries, returns, or exchanges as needed.

Quality Control:

Inspect received goods for quantity, quality, and condition, ensuring they meet company standards.

Report any damaged or defective items and coordinate with the supplier for replacements or returns.

Ensure that items are safely stored in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Stockroom Organization and Maintenance:

Organize stock and maintain a clean and orderly stockroom environment.

Label and store items systematically for easy identification and accessibility.

Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and protect stock items.
