Finn Church Aid - Action for Human Dignity Finn Church Aid (FCA) is the largest Finnish development cooperation organisation and the second largest provider of humanitarian assistance. Our work is based on rights, which means that our operations are guided by equality, non-discrimination and responsibility. Finn Church Aid is committed to working until the people in need can independently secure their livelihood and satisfy their basic needs. For human rights, against poverty The reduction of poverty requires achieving peace and the realisation of human rights. Through our projects, we work to ensure both. We encourage decision-makers and all Finns to address structures that induce poverty, violence and human rights violations. Africa and Asia as the main targets In 2016, FCA will provide aid for 34 million euros in value. The majority of our funds come from private investors, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, and parishes. Over 85 percent of the donated funds are directed to aid work. The share of domestic operations and general administration is about 15 percent. Most of our assistance goes to Africa. The need for assistance on the continent has been caused and maintained by political instability, prolonged crises and natural disasters. The second most significant target for aid funds is Asia, which has the largest number of people living in poverty. International cooperation FCA is a partner organisation of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and a founding member of the international aid alliance of churches, ACT Alliance. The alliance forms one of the largest aid organisations in the world. Its total volume is €1.6 billion each year, and it has operations in 140 countries. Over 100 aid organisations are involved in ACT Alliance.
Job Description
- FCA Kenya is implementing advanced digital skills training project building on the experiences gained in the Creative Industries program and the potential of young men and women who possess digital skills to engage in a broad range of economic activities in the sector with well-targeted support. The project is aimed at providing emerging creatives with the technical and entrepreneurship skills, knowledge, resources, and access to networks necessary to tap into economic opportunities in Kenya’s creative industry.
Objectives & Deliverables
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive (intermediate to advanced level) training/coaching curriculum in 2D & 3D Animation and Motion Graphics.
- Provide personalized coaching and support to participants to facilitate their learning and skill development.
- Collaborate with the project team to organize networking events, guest speaker sessions, and industry panels to connect participants with professionals in the creative industries.
- Facilitate mentorship opportunities and encourage participants to engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of industry trends and advancements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders to facilitate job placements and market linkages for participants.
- Implement regular assessments and evaluations to measure participant learning outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide individualized support and resources to address learning gaps and ensure that participants are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the digital industry
Skills and qualifications required
- A diploma/bachelor’s degree or in a related field, including animation, graphic design, or film.
- At least 5 years’ experience in both 2D and 3D animation & motion graphics.
- Proven experience in delivering training programs, preferably in the digital sector.
- Strong understanding of relevant digital technologies and emerging trends in the industry.
- Previous experience of delivering Training Programmes through online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Virtual Learning platforms.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of participants.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt training content to meet the needs of different learning styles.
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design is a plus.
- Familiarity and knowledge of global/regional and local (Kenya) job market dynamics in addition to industry connections in Nairobi is desirable.
