Presented by Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the award recognises the Ruler of Sharjah’s lifelong contributions to culture, scholarship, and intercultural dialogue. He is the first Arab and sixth global recipient of the honour.
The recognition also marks 50 years of UAE–Portugal diplomatic relations and reflects shared commitment to knowledge exchange, cultural cooperation, and humanistic values.
