This milestone strengthens the park’s endangered species breeding programme, contributing to global conservation efforts for the near-threatened southern white rhino, with only around 15,700 remaining in the wild.
Salam, weighing 73.5 kg at birth, is thriving under expert care. Dubai Safari Park, spanning 119 hectares with over 3,000 animals, directs a portion of ticket sales toward wildlife rescue, research, and care. The birth highlights the park’s commitment to animal welfare and conservation initiatives.
