The Department of Municipalities and Transport amended Chairman’s Decision No. 4 of 2018 to promote inclusivity while maintaining health, safety, and animal welfare standards.
Priority will be given to terraces, balconies, and patios, with indoor spaces allowed if standards are met.
Previously restricted to service animals, the new rules let operators decide on pet-friendly policies based on their facilities and capacity, enhancing Abu Dhabi’s appeal as a welcoming, global destination.
