If the role doesn’t have an approved budget… don’t start hiring.

❌ Don’t screen
❌ Don’t call
Candidates are NOT your backup plan.
They take leave.
They prepare.
They show up seriously.
A good friend of mine traveled 2 hours, prepared slides, took a day off…
...only to get:
“Unfortunately, we are not moving forward.”
All because the budget wasn’t approved.
💡 Honesty doesn’t demotivate.
⏳ Wasting time does.
It’s okay to say:
“This role is on hold due to budget constraints.”
Respect candidates’ time like you expect them to respect yours.
Every interview… every resume… is someone pausing their life for your opportunity. 🙏
