In the past few weeks, I’ve applied for role after role across Seek, Indeed, and other job boards. Dozens of applications sent, tailored resumes and cover letters written and yet, I’ve only secured one interview.
Most applications get no response at all. Others end in an instant auto-decline, without so much as a phone call or a chance to have a conversation about my skills and experience.
It’s hard not to feel deflated. You start to question yourself, even when you know you have the capability and track record to add real value.
I know I’m not the only one feeling this. Job seeking in the current market is more competitive than ever, and it can take a real toll on your confidence.
For anyone else in the same boat — keep going. The right opportunity is out there, even if the path to finding it feels longer than it should.
And if you’re a hiring manager or recruiter reading this, I encourage you to remember the human side of the process. A simple conversation can go a long way. less
