More Changes: Sponsored Channels and Subscriptions
Beyond ads in Status, WhatsApp is also rolling out promoted channels and subscription-based content. When browsing new channels via the Explore tab, you might now see promoted recommendations. Additionally, creators and brands can offer exclusive updates through paid subscriptions. These changes aim to deepen user engagement and provide monetization tools—bringing WhatsApp closer in line with Telegram and other modern messaging platforms.
