This Kobo Accessory Changes Everything
October 14, 2025 -
3 minutes, 26 seconds
I’m an avid reader — the kind who probably doubles the lifetime average. If most people read about 3,000 books, I’ve likely passed 6,000 by now. Most of that happens in bed, with my month-old Kobo Libra Colour propped up on its magnetic cover. But every few minutes, I have to reach out from under the blanket to tap that page-turn button.
That’s why this new accessory might just be what my Kobo ereader needs — and why I’m genuinely excited about it.
Kobo’s New Remote Could Change Reading Forever
Kobo has just unveiled something small but game-changing: the Kobo Remote, a Bluetooth-enabled, hands-free page turner designed specifically for Kobo ereaders. Starting November 4, readers worldwide will be able to grab it in black or white.
The idea is simple but brilliant — let readers flip pages without moving a finger (well, almost). For bedtime readers like me, that could make all the difference.
Why This New Kobo Accessory Stands Out
Sure, remote page turners already exist — you can find cheap RF versions on Amazon. But most are designed for Kindles, and in my experience, they’re glitchy or unreliable with other brands.
The Kobo Remote, however, is purpose-built for Kobo’s Bluetooth-enabled ereaders. That means smoother pairing, fewer connection drops, and what Kobo calls “the absolute minimum of movement to disturb your reading cosiness.”
That’s exactly the experience I’ve been craving.
Compatibility And Pricing
Kobo says the new remote will work with its Bluetooth-compatible models, including the Libra Colour and the latest Clara HD refresh. While it’s officially designed for Kobo devices, I suspect it might work with other ereaders too — though that could vary by region. (Sadly, Amazon’s Bluetooth restrictions in Australia may limit my experiments there.)
As for cost, it’s priced reasonably at $29.99 / AU$44.95, with UK pricing yet to be announced. Considering the comfort and convenience it promises, that feels like a fair deal.
The Accessory Kobo Readers Have Been Waiting For
Kobo hasn’t announced any new ereaders for 2025 yet, but this clever little remote already feels like a worthy upgrade. It might not be a whole new device, but it enhances what we already love about Kobo — the quiet joy of reading, uninterrupted.
So yes, this new accessory might just be what my Kobo ereader needs — and maybe what yours needs too.
