This Energizer Laptop’s Battery Goes Forever—But Can’t Fly

Avenir Telecom has introduced something unusual: an Energizer-branded laptop with a truly massive battery. This Energizer laptop claims to have a battery that keeps going and going and going—but will it fly? (No.) That’s because its 192Wh power pack is way above the airline limit, making it impossible to carry on most flights.

The standout is the Pro Ultra, which comes with an 18-inch display at 1920 x 1200 resolution and that monster 192Wh battery. At just €449 ($523) to start, these machines promise marathon performance at a budget price.

The Battery Problem

Here’s the catch: this Energizer laptop claims to have a battery that keeps going and going and going, with up to 28 hours of heavy use or seven days on standby. But that same battery makes it too big for air travel.

The FAA bans lithium batteries over 160Wh from flights, and even those above 100Wh require approval. Most laptops stop at around 100Wh for this reason. Canada’s Air Transport Security Authority allows exceptions for medical mobility devices, but those batteries must be external—not sealed inside a laptop.

So while the EnergyBook Ultra might last you a full workweek without a charger, you won’t be bringing it onboard your next trip.

If you’re a frequent flyer, this laptop isn’t for you. But if you work from home, camp off-grid, or just want a device that really lives up to the Energizer brand, it could be a quirky but practical choice.
