An Ohio man pleaded guilty to running a fake investment scheme that prosecutors say defrauded five victims in Ohio and Florida of more than $3 million. John E. Brown II promoted supposed “rolling code ticket packages” linked to sports and theme-park experiences, but the investment did not exist. Prosecutors said he used investors’ money for personal expenses, including about $1.375 million in casino transfers.
