Plaud has taken its compact NotePin AI recorder to the next level with the new NotePin S, now featuring a physical button for easier use. Alongside the hardware update, Plaud is offering a free desktop app that lets users record meeting audio directly on their computers, available for all existing Plaud Note and NotePin owners. The update answers a common user request: simpler, more intuitive controls for on-the-go audio capture.
At first glance, the NotePin S resembles its 2024 predecessor, keeping the sleek, FitBit-style design. The device now comes bundled with a lanyard, wristband, clip, and magnetic pin, making it versatile for daily wear. Previously, some accessories were sold separately, but now everything needed for flexible carrying is included in the box. The NotePin S retains its familiar size, color options—black, purple, or silver—and battery life, along with Apple Find My support.
The most noticeable change is the new physical button. The original NotePin relied on haptic controls, requiring a long squeeze to start recording and giving a short buzz for confirmation. The S simplifies this: a long press starts recording, while a short tap adds highlight markers. Plaud also introduces a desktop app, designed to record audio from online meetings and sync seamlessly with NotePin devices. The app is free for all Plaud hardware owners and supports transcription, summaries, and action point generation.
