Mercedes-Benz is making it easier than ever to stay connected while on the road. The company is the first automaker to enable Microsoft Teams in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, allowing drivers to join video meetings using an in-car camera — even while driving. Drivers can turn on their in-car camera to join Teams meetings and be seen by coworkers, although they won't be able to view others’ shared content like slides or screens during the drive. Once the camera is activated, the system will automatically block any distracting visuals, focusing only on the video stream from the driver. This setup is tailored for remote workers or managers who want to check in quickly during commutes without compromising on safety.

The partnership doesn’t stop at Teams video calls. Microsoft and Mercedes-Benz are also collaborating to bring Microsoft 365 Copilot to the car, enabling voice-activated productivity tools. Drivers will soon be able to manage tasks, summarize emails, and stay on top of their calendars using natural language prompts. This is part of Mercedes-Benz's broader push to redefine the car as a “third workspace,” alongside home and office environments. With Copilot embedded into the vehicle's system, multitasking could become more efficient — assuming drivers don’t mind mixing business with the road.

The feature is expected to launch first on the all-new CLA, with other models like the E-Class likely to follow. These vehicles already come equipped with advanced camera systems for apps like TikTok and Zoom, making them ideal candidates for expanded workplace tools.
