The conference will bring on board a government delegation that will be led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi as well as Treasury Cabinet Secretary Njuguna Ndungu.
UNCTAD Secretary General Rebeca Grynspan will also grace the function.
The High-level Dialogue will see participants exchange ideas on the technical implementation and sequencing of the Holistic Productive Capacities Development Programme for Kenya.
”The Holistic Programme seeks to capitalize on Kenya’s comparative advantages while addressing the identified key constraints in the NPCGA, thus propelling the country’s development,” read a statement by UNCTAD.
”Moreover, it aligns with the objectives of Kenya Vision 2030, the nation’s long-term development strategy, and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, with a focus on fostering inclusive, sustainable, and green development,“ it added.
Organisers of the event say the event will lead to a meticulous assessment of the country’s gaps and limitations in fostering productive capacities and achieving structural economic transformation.
UNCTAD says it seeks to identify Kenya’s competitiveness, address bottlenecks, and foster productive capacities through policy changes.
The global trade body says the event represents a pivotal step towards building an all-inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economy in Kenya.
