The Expert Mouse TB800 EQ features a slimmer build and an integrated wrist rest, giving it a premium aesthetic similar to Kensington’s SlimBlade Pro from 2022. Despite its leaner profile, this updated model enhances functionality rather than reducing it. Priced at $129.99 (up from $109.99), the new version adds even more control options, including three scroll wheels for an enhanced user experience.
Unlike the SlimBlade Pro, which requires twisting the trackball for scrolling, the new Expert Mouse keeps its signature scroll ring around the ball while introducing two vertical scroll wheels on either side. These additional wheels allow for seamless horizontal scrolling and zooming, ideal for navigating complex projects in video or audio editing applications.
Users can easily customize their experience, toggling the ring between smooth scrolling or line-by-line precision for reading documents. And if the extra scroll wheels aren’t needed, Kensington makes it simple to disable them with built-in switches on the underside of the device.
Along with the familiar four programmable buttons surrounding the trackball, the Expert Mouse TB800 EQ now includes four new buttons along the top edge. These are pre-configured for media playback and volume control but can be reprogrammed for shortcuts, productivity tools, or editing commands using Kensington’s customization software.
