Following the confirmation of Kenya’s first imported Ebola case, KTN has reconstructed the patient’s journey from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Nairobi. The patient travelled from the DRC, where he sought treatment at several health facilities before continuing his journey to Kenya. After arriving in the country, he was admitted at different health facilities as his condition deteriorated. The patient was eventually transferred to Nairobi, where he was admitted at Nairobi Hospital. Despite efforts by medical teams to save his life, the patient died at the facility. KTN’s reconstruction traces the key stages of his journey, the health facilities he visited, and the events leading to the confirmation of Kenya’s first imported Ebola case.
