Elon Musk’s long-awaited X Money app is now rolling out to paid X subscribers in the United States. This new financial service is part of Musk’s vision to transform X into an “everything app.” X Money offers a suite of banking-like features designed for both convenience and rewards.
Every eligible user receives an X Visa debit card — both digital and physical. The digital card can be added immediately to Apple Pay, enabling instant peer-to-peer transfers within the app with no fees or limits. The physical card adds global usability: no foreign transaction fees and free cash withdrawals at ATMs worldwide.
X Money offers competitive earnings for Premium tier subscribers. Premium+ users (paying $40/month or $395/year) automatically qualify for a 6% Annual Percentage Yield (APY). Premium users ($8/month or $84/year) can access the same 6% rate by linking a direct deposit to their X Money account. Additionally, users earn up to 3% cash back on select purchases, and direct deposit users can access funds a few days early.
X Money is currently available only to X Premium and Premium+ subscribers in the United States. The rollout began on July 27, 2026, and is expanding gradually. To start, simply upgrade your X account to a paid tier and follow the in-app prompts to activate X Money.
The launch of X Money fulfills a dream Musk has held for over two decades. In 1999, he founded X.com, a financial services startup that later became part of PayPal. When Musk acquired Twitter in 2022, he rebranded it as X and repurchased the X.com domain. X Money is the latest step in his plan to build a super-app that combines social networking, payments, banking, and more.
Industry watchers expect X Money to eventually expand to more countries and add features such as loans, stock trading, and crypto integration. For now, US subscribers can enjoy instant transfers, a global debit card, and high-yield savings — all within the X ecosystem.
Currently, X Money is only available in the United States. International expansion has not been announced yet.
No. X Money is exclusive to X Premium and Premium+ subscribers. Free tier users cannot access the service.
