CGO Compact E-Bike: Twist, Fold, and Ride Anywhere
Urban commuters and city dwellers are often on the hunt for an e-bike that doesn’t take over their apartment hallway, car trunk, or train compartment. Tenways’ new CGO Compact e-bike promises to solve that problem with a design built for tight spaces without compromising performance. From foldable pedals to a twistable handlebar, this e-bike packs convenience into a small, sleek package.
Foldable Design for Urban Living
The CGO Compact stands out thanks to its clever folding mechanics. Its handlebar uses the Byschulz Speedlifter Twist Stem, allowing it to twist flat against a wall or lay flat in a car trunk. The pedals fold inward, further reducing its footprint, while the adjustable steering column ensures comfort for riders of different heights. This combination creates a wall-hugging profile ideal for apartments, offices, and crowded storage areas.
Small 20-inch wheels make maneuvering easier in tight spaces, and the low-step-through frame ensures that riders of varying sizes can mount and dismount effortlessly. Whether you’re sharing the e-bike with a family member or storing it under your desk, the CGO Compact’s compact dimensions are a major selling point.
Carry More Without Extra Effort
Urban riders often need to carry groceries, work bags, or even small passengers. The CGO Compact doesn’t disappoint. Its MIK HD rear carrier system supports up to 27kg (around 60 pounds), with mounting options for crates, panniers, or a child seat. This makes it a versatile choice for city commuting, weekend errands, or short trips where hauling capacity matters.
Performance That Fits City Streets
Powering the CGO Compact is a 250W rear-hub motor paired with a Gates Carbon belt drive, ensuring smooth, maintenance-free propulsion. The removable 500Wh battery promises up to 100km of range, which is more than enough for daily commutes or weekend explorations.
It’s important to note that the bike’s single-speed drivetrain produces 45Nm of torque. While this is sufficient for flat urban areas, riders in hilly cities may find it less suitable for steep climbs. For typical city streets, however, it offers a comfortable, quiet, and efficient ride.
Tenways: A Rising Name in E-Bikes
Though Tenways isn’t yet a household name globally, the company has steadily built a presence in Europe. Headquartered in the Netherlands, this Chinese-founded brand combines sleek designs with competitive pricing and a growing network of over 1,500 shops and service centers.
The CGO Compact is priced at €1,999 (around $2,365), which undercuts the average European e-bike price of €2,681. While not exactly cheap, it offers excellent value for commuters who need portability, performance, and practicality in one package.
Availability and Market Focus
Currently, the CGO Compact is available exclusively in Europe. Tenways does sell other models in the U.S., but this particular folding e-bike hasn’t crossed the Atlantic yet. Given its compact size and versatile design, it seems tailor-made for European cities where storage space is limited, and public transport integration is essential.
Convenience Meets Innovation
The CGO Compact e-bike is a prime example of how thoughtful design can meet real-world commuting challenges. Its foldable frame, twistable handlebars, and adjustable components make it a flexible option for families, urban commuters, and anyone navigating tight spaces. With a balance of portability, performance, and carrying capacity, this e-bike is more than just a vehicle—it’s a solution for modern city living.
Tenways may still be building its reputation, but the CGO Compact shows that innovation, convenience, and value can go hand in hand, offering a compelling alternative for riders who need an e-bike that fits into every corner of their life.
