AT&T Raises Home Internet Prices Again

Everything seems to be getting more expensive lately — and now your internet bill is no exception. AT&T is raising home internet prices for the second year in a row, tacking on another $5 per month to all AT&T Internet plans. The company confirmed the change to The Verge, marking yet another round of price hikes for subscribers already paying more since last year.
Another $5 Added On Top Of Last Year’s Increase
This latest adjustment follows a $5 monthly increase in November 2024 — and reports suggest some customers even saw similar hikes back in 2023. Starting December 1, 2025, customers will see the new charge reflected in their bills.
An email sent to subscribers reads:
“To ensure we continue providing the quality service and support you deserve, the price of your home internet plan will increase by $5/month.”
AT&T’s spokesperson Jim Kimberly explained that the change is part of the company’s ongoing effort to balance costs while maintaining service quality.
AT&T Cites Rising Operating Costs
In its statement, AT&T said:
“As we work to meet the evolving needs of our business and manage increasing operational costs, we’re adjusting our internet plan rates to help maintain the high-quality service our customers expect.”
The telecom giant also reminded users that they can offset the increase by enrolling in Autopay and Paperless Billing, which offer up to $10 in monthly discounts — $10 for linking an eligible bank account or $5 with a debit card.

Despite Higher Costs, Profits Remain Strong
While AT&T reported $300 million in higher operating expenses last quarter, the company still earned an impressive $4.9 billion in net profit over the same period. This has left some customers frustrated, questioning why rising costs are being passed down despite strong financial performance.
What It Means For Customers
For many, the hike represents yet another example of creeping internet costs at a time when connectivity is essential for work, school, and entertainment. AT&T’s home internet price increase adds to a growing list of household expenses — making it harder for consumers to find affordable, reliable broadband.
With AT&T raising home internet prices for the second year in a row, customers should review their billing options, consider enrolling in available discounts, and keep an eye out for better deals from competitors.
Even with steady profits, AT&T says the adjustments are necessary to “maintain service quality.” Whether customers agree or not, one thing is clear — the cost of staying connected keeps going up.
