Forget to buy toilet paper or a charger? Good news—Amazon now lets Prime members add items to completed orders before they’re shipped out. The new feature, called Add to Delivery, saves you from placing an entirely new order and paying extra shipping fees.
This update is rolling out across the U.S. for all Prime members and is designed to make shopping more flexible, mobile-friendly, and stress-free.
How Amazon’s Add To Delivery Works
The Amazon Add to Delivery feature is available through the Amazon mobile app and the mobile version of Amazon.com. Once you’ve completed an order, you can still add eligible items—including electronics, clothing, books, and groceries—so long as your package hasn’t shipped yet.
If the item is eligible, you’ll see a new blue “Add to delivery” button just below the standard yellow “Add to cart” button. Tapping it instantly adds the product to your upcoming shipment.
Worried about mistakes? If you accidentally tap the button or change your mind, Amazon gives you an undo option to quickly remove it.
Why Amazon Added This Feature
Amazon says the feature was built to match “how people actually shop: one need at a time, as they arise.” Many shoppers realize they forgot something right after placing an order. Instead of creating another checkout, Prime members can now adjust on the fly.
For busy customers, this means:
-
More convenience: no second orders or separate deliveries.
-
No extra shipping fees: added items arrive with your scheduled delivery.
-
Fewer packaging materials: a win for eco-conscious shoppers.
Prime Members Get The Best Benefits
The feature is currently exclusive to U.S. Prime members. With Prime priced at $14.99/month, users not only get fast, free shipping but also this added flexibility to fix those “oops, I forgot” shopping moments.
Amazon has been testing this quietly with some Prime members, and after positive feedback, it’s now expanding to more users nationwide.
With Amazon now letting Prime members add items to completed orders, shopping becomes even more seamless. No more stressing over forgotten essentials—whether it’s batteries, snacks, or an extra phone charger.
This update makes Amazon’s Prime membership even more valuable by combining speed, flexibility, and customer-first convenience.
