Trent Alexander-Arnold has sent a heartfelt message to Jordan Henderson following his departure from Liverpool.
Henderson, 33, released a farewell video to Liverpool on his Instagram account on Wednesday in which he confirmed he would be leaving the club after 12 years.
The England international has now joined Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq on a three-year deal, worth a reported £700,000 per week.
A number of Liverpool players responded to Henderson's video - which you can watch below - with messages of support and thanks, including Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Stefan Bajcetic.Alexander-Arnold has now posted his own tribute to Henderson on Twitter, thanking his England teammate for his constant support throughout his career."Skipper, where do I start? The one constant factor in my career since my debut. My Liverpool and England journey we have been together since day 1," posted Alexander-Arnold.
"To have shared every dressing room with you is something I'll always cherish. A constant inspiration to me and the perfect role model on a daily basis, following your lead meant I was always on the right path."You have done so much for me on and off the pitch, more than you will ever know and for that I'll never be able to repay you."I'll always be grateful for the support you’ve given me to become a man and a better player. Henderson won every major club honour as Liverpool captain including the Premier League and Champions League trophies and leaves having made 492 appearances for the club, scoring 33 times.Confirming his departure on Wednesday, Henderson wrote: "Being made the captain of Liverpool Football Club was one of the greatest honours of my life.
"From the day the armband was passed to me, I did everything I could to behave like a Liverpool captain should. But the biggest honours at Liverpool weren't personal ones, they were collective. All of us, all of you - together.
"Just know that I will always be a Red. Until the day I die. Thank you for everything. You'll never walk alone."
