In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the Dubai Metro is a high-speed rail transit system. It is now managed by Keolis, a French corporation. Both the Red Line and the Green Line are operational, with Route 2020, a significant 15-kilometer extension of the Red Line to the Expo 2020 site, announced in April 2015 and scheduled to open in 2021. In the city center, the first two lines are both subterranean and uphill.
Aside from that, all trains and stops are completely automated and driverless, with platform-side doors and air conditioning. Five metro stations, two depots, and an operations control center were developed by Aedas. The Dubai Metro was built by Al Ghareer Investment Group.
