Tanzania’s historic passenger and cargo vessel, MV Liemba, resumed operations on October 6, 2026, after a major overhaul costing 34 billion Tanzanian shillings ($13.2 million), restoring a long-standing transport link between Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
