Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Review: Deep Cuts Into Classic and Rare Fighters Are you searching for a comprehensive fighting game collection featuring Capcom’s hidden gems and classic 2D fighters? Capcom Fighting Collection 2 brings together a diverse lineup of iconic and obscure fighting games released between 1998 and 2004, including rare titles like Project Justice and Plasma Sword that have long been difficult to find. This collection is perfect for fans looking to experience polished 2D fighters, early 3D experiments, and crossover battles from arcade and console eras. Capcom Fighting Collection 2 expands on the success of the previous compilations, blending eight distinct fighters into one accessible package. Unlike earlier collections focusing solely on 2D hits such as Street Fighter II and Darkstalkers, this release delves deeper into Capcom’s niche offerings. It features crossover gems like SNK vs. Capcom: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro and Mark of the Millennium 2001, as well as Capcom Fighting Evolution, where characters from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and Red Earth collide in thrilling matches. This collection is a must-have for fans seeking both nostalgia and variety. The collection’s 2D fighters stand out with their fluid animations, detailed character designs, and refined mechanics that emphasize team dynamics and strategic power-ups. Notably, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper offers a polished solo fighting experience praised for its balance and depth. These titles arrived at a time when 2D fighting games were struggling to maintain mainstream appeal, yet Capcom’s efforts kept the genre vibrant and engaging for dedicated players. For fighting game enthusiasts and collectors, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 delivers rare titles alongside familiar favorites, making it an ideal package to revisit classic arcade action or explore hard-to-find gems. Whether you’re a casual player or a competitive fighter, this collection enriches your gaming library with quality titles that showcase Capcom’s innovation in fighting games across multiple platforms, including arcade and Dreamcast.
