Leica Lux App Now Lets You Shoot iPhone Photos Like a Pro

Transform Your iPhone Photos with Leica's Greg Williams Artist Look in the Lux App Wondering how to make iPhone photos look like they were taken by a professional photographer? Leica's latest update to its Lux camera app for iPhone now makes it possible. With the introduction of a new Greg Williams Artist Look, users can instantly apply a pro photographer’s aesthetic to their shots. This game-changing photo filter gives your images a cinematic black-and-white style reminiscent of classic Kodak Tri-X film — warm, expressive, and timeless. What Is the Leica Lux App and Why Does It Matter for iPhone Photography? The Leica Lux app is Leica's premium camera software designed exclusively for iPhones, blending advanced photography tools with the luxury brand’s signature look. Whether you're a photography enthusiast or a content creator looking to boost photo quality without editing, Leica Lux offers a wide range of filters modeled after Leica lenses, color science, and vintage film. The new Artist Looks feature goes a step further by letting you channel the vision of renowned photographers — starting with Greg Williams, whose style is now available via a single tap. Inside the Greg Williams Artist Look: A Tribute to Film Photography Greg Williams is known for capturing Hollywood’s biggest stars with striking, intimate portraits. Leica’s new filter emulates this look by converting iPhone photos to black-and-white with a warm white point, producing a vintage, filmic atmosphere. Inspired by Kodak Tri-X, this effect is ideal for moody portraits, street photography, and timeless candid moments. The Artist Look simplifies pro-level editing, making it accessible to anyone with an iPhone and a creative eye. How to Access the Greg Williams Look in the Lux App To unlock the Greg Williams Artist Look, users must subscribe to Lux Pro at $6.99/month or $69.99/year — or purchase Leica’s $625 phone grip, which includes access. The new look arrives with version 1.7 of the Lux app, available now on the iOS App Store. Lux Pro also grants access to other exclusive features, including filters inspired by Leica lenses like the 50mm Noctilux and 35mm Summilux, helping you capture DSLR-quality bokeh and sharpness using just your smartphone. Leica Expands Artist Look to Q3 and SL3 Cameras via Fotos App Leica isn’t stopping with iPhones. The Greg Williams filter is also available to users of Leica’s high-end cameras — including the Leica Q3, SL3, and SL3-S — via an update to the Leica Fotos app. Once installed, you can apply the Artist Look directly on supported cameras or retroactively on any JPEGs uploaded from Leica models with Wi-Fi support. Unlike the Lux app, this version of the filter doesn’t require a subscription — just the camera itself. How Leica Stands Out from Fujifilm, Panasonic, and Others Leica’s strategy of collaborating with celebrity photographers sets it apart from rivals like Fujifilm, which leans on its historical film stock for recipes in its X100 line, or Panasonic, which offers customizable color profiles on its Lumix S9. Instead of broad profiles like vivid or neutral, Leica gives you curated, branded looks developed in partnership with artists. This approach not only appeals to mobile photographers, but also enhances brand loyalty among serious creatives. Why This Matters for Content Creators and Mobile Photographers Whether you're a TikTok creator, Instagram influencer, or tech-savvy traveler, Leica’s Artist Look presets save time and elevate your aesthetic instantly. No more toggling through Lightroom settings or VSCO filters — just tap, shoot, and post. With smartphone cameras becoming the primary tool for creators, high-quality filters like Greg Williams’ offer a serious edge in content quality and audience engagement. What’s Next for Leica's Artist Look Series? Leica has teased that more Artist Looks are on the way, potentially from other legendary Leica shooters like Elliott Erwitt or Bruce Gilden. As Leica continues to blend heritage photography with modern mobile convenience, future filters may allow users to replicate more iconic styles, from street to documentary to editorial photography — all on their phones. Is the Leica Lux App Worth It? If you're looking to elevate your iPhone photography to professional standards with minimal effort, Leica’s Lux app with the Greg Williams Artist Look is a compelling tool. It combines premium quality, artistic vision, and technical convenience, all within a familiar mobile interface. Whether you're after timeless black-and-white shots or inspired by the pros, Leica makes it easier than ever to shoot like a pro — no DSLR required.
