Apple Vision Pro May Soon Support Eye Scrolling

Apple Vision Pro Eye Scrolling: What It Is and How It Might Work Wondering how to scroll with your eyes on Apple Vision Pro? Apple is reportedly testing an innovative eye-tracking feature for its Vision Pro headset that may soon let users scroll through apps simply by moving their eyes. This futuristic capability could arrive with visionOS 3, marking a major upgrade in how we interact with mixed reality environments. For those searching terms like Apple Vision Pro eye scrolling, how does Vision Pro eye tracking work, or new features in visionOS 3, here's everything you need to know. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is exploring eye-based scrolling for all built-in Vision Pro apps, and may soon open this function to third-party developers. If this becomes official, users might no longer need to pinch their fingers or use external controllers to navigate through content. Instead, scrolling could happen just by looking—literally. Imagine browsing Safari or flipping through your Photos app just by shifting your gaze. While Apple hasn’t detailed exactly how this feature will function, experts speculate that users might scroll by resting their eyes near the edge of a screen or by glancing up or down past a certain UI element. This would be a significant improvement over Apple’s current Dwell Control accessibility feature, which allows limited interaction based on where your eyes linger but lacks fluidity. How Apple Vision Pro Eye Tracking Stands Out The Vision Pro already boasts advanced eye-tracking capabilities, designed to create immersive mixed-reality experiences. Currently, users scroll by pinching their thumb and forefinger or by using connected accessories like a Bluetooth mouse or wireless game controller. However, native eye scrolling would offer a more seamless, hands-free experience—particularly beneficial in virtual workspaces, gaming, or while watching immersive content. Apple's move to expand eye-based controls aligns with trends across augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) platforms, where user experience is paramount. For developers, this could also unlock high-value app development opportunities, especially in areas like VR gaming, immersive education, and remote collaboration. Why This Could Be a Game-Changer for visionOS 3 As Apple prepares to unveil visionOS 3, insiders expect a "feature-packed" release that refines and expands the Vision Pro's core functionalities. Eye-scrolling may be one of many enhancements, but it's certainly among the most user-requested. Apple knows that intuitive UI is key to mainstream adoption of spatial computing—and eye tracking is at the center of that future. This technology could dramatically impact how consumers interact with AR/VR applications, especially for those using the Vision Pro for business, productivity, or accessibility needs. For advertisers and publishers, the potential also extends to interactive content and gaze-based ad engagement, a future high-CPC territory. When Will We Know More? Apple is expected to unveil visionOS 3 and new Vision Pro updates at WWDC 2025, happening in June. While details remain under wraps, Gurman hints that the update will include “a pretty feature-packed release,” with eye scrolling likely to be one of the headline features. If you're eager to experience gesture-free scrolling, keep an eye on Apple’s announcements. With competition heating up in the AR/VR space, features like this will be crucial in shaping the next generation of spatial computing devices.  Eye Control Is No Longer Sci-Fi Scrolling with your eyes may sound like something out of a sci-fi film, but for Apple Vision Pro users, it’s about to become a reality. Whether you're a developer, tech enthusiast, or future Vision Pro buyer, this feature could redefine how we interact with content. With visionOS 3 likely just weeks away, the wait won’t be long before we know exactly how Apple plans to deliver this breakthrough.
