In a Truth Social post, US President Donald Trump stated he has ordered the US Navy to “shoot and kill” any small boats found planting mines in the Strait of Hormuz. He framed the directive as applying specifically to vessels engaged in mining and insisted there should be “no hesitation” in executing the order.

Trump also said US mine‑clearing operations are underway in the strait and instructed that these efforts continue, adding they should be increased to a “tripled‑up level.” The announcement signals an escalatory posture aimed at ensuring freedom of navigation in the strategic waterway.
