7 Things UAE Employers Won't Tell You (But I Will)

After 15+ years placing candidates in the UAE, here's what employers never mention:

1. Your salary is negotiable (even after the offer) Most candidates accept the first number. Big mistake.

2. "Unlimited leave" often means "we track everything." Read your contract. 'Unlimited' rarely means unlimited.

3. They check your social media before hiring. That party photo? They saw it.

4. Probation periods can be extended. A probation period of 6 months can be extended to 9 months; make sure to get this in writing.

5. "Family status" affects your package: Single vs. married = different benefits. Ask upfront.

6. End-of-service benefits are calculated on day 1. Know your rights. Many employers hope you don't.

7. The visa process cost? Sometimes YOU pay it. Clarify who covers visa, medical, and Emirates ID fees.
