A rare cold wave has swept across northern and central Saudi Arabia, pushing temperatures below freezing and causing water to turn into ice mid-air.

Residents shared striking videos on social media showing streams of water solidifying instantly, while ponds and irrigation channels froze over.

In Tabuk, snowfall transformed parts of Jabal Al Lawz into a winter playground for children. The National Center for Meteorology confirmed temperatures dropped to as low as minus four degrees Celsius in several regions and issued weather warnings.

Authorities have urged caution as thunderstorms, strong winds and potential flash flooding are forecast next.
